Looking for a Regular Sunday Support Worker, 7-hour shift, Adult Female with CP
by Brianna • Southwark
We're looking for an ongoing Support Worker who can commit to a 7-hour Sunday shift to support an Adult Female with Cerebral Palsy. Very independent, the client needs minimal-to-moderate disability support during the day--primarily, support with preparing meals and feeding, some computer tasks, household help (feeding the cat), and general observation for fall or choke hazards. Very few personal care tasks are needed (no bathroom or showering help required), however, the odd outing may call for a nice outfit, hair, and makeup!
Based: central London. Looking for someone who can commit to Sundays until at least June 2025. Some experience and references required.
£90 - £1167 Hr. / Week
Starts: Shortly

Job Description: My daughter is (chronologically 25 but younger in self) - she is hampered by her CP and mild autism. She needs help and encouragement to plan activity, to keep track of time and stay roughly to schedule, to get out and do stimulating activities each day, plus some walking with splints on, a basic foot massage and foot/leg stretch, to eat healthily and shed a bit of weight, but still enjoy good home made food. She sometimes needs encouragement (and a companion) to go swimming, to go to a dance or drama or art session which she enjoys but is sometimes reluctant or nervous to get there. She needs someone to help to practise booking things she wants to do, to chat about her favourite music and celebrities, to cook with and to chill with and watch a movie she can understand, to help her keep organised in her room, to travel to events, etc etc. You would need to understand when she is reaching overwhelm and enable short breaks to allay anxieties, and be able to be in tune with her daily fluctuating energy patterns - some days one needs to abandon plans and keep it quiet, some days she is "on fire" with energy. Some days a trip to the large swing in the local park is enough.
