Nanny for Twins (1 w/ Autism)

by Salam • Merton
We are a loving family seeking a caring and experienced nanny to join our household and help care for our wonderful 4-year-old twins. One of our twins is on the autism spectrum and has a speech delay, so experience and/or comfort with special needs is a must. What we're looking for: * Nurturing and patient: Someone who can create a warm and supportive environment for our children, understanding the unique needs of our son with autism. * Experienced: Prior experience with toddlers and ideally some familiarity with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder. * Engaging and playful: We want someone who can come up with fun activities, get down on the floor and play, and keep our twins entertained and engaged. * Reliable and responsible: Punctuality and dependability are essential. * Good communication: Open communication with us about the children's day, progress, and any concerns is key. Responsibilities would include: * Weekday and/or weekend care: We are flexible and can discuss a schedule that works for everyone. Weekend help is particularly important to us. * Creating a stimulating environment: Planning age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, playtime, and outdoor adventures (weather permitting). * Supporting development: Encouraging language development through play and interaction, working with our son on his communication skills. * Meal preparation: Preparing healthy snacks and meals for the children. * Light housekeeping: Tidying up after the children and keeping their play areas organized. * Possible school pick-ups/drop-offs: This is a bonus and would depend on the candidate's availability and location.

Support workers needed in New Malden for bank work - we are looking for a committed and flexible support worker for 2 night shifts per week and to be available to cover staff holiday/ school holiday and sickness. We’re looking for support workers – to work as bank staff with our delightful 7-year-old. What we need Our little boy has severe cerebral palsy, which affects him physically and causes learning difficulties. However, he has bags of personality and is a happy soul. He especially enjoys engaging in different sensory and audio-visual activities. Because our son loves being around people, his support workers have to be a good match for him too. This means you should be a positive, self-motivated and cheerful person. We’re not asking you to have huge amounts of experience. What’s more important is your commitment to working with a disabled child, your professionalism and your willingness to learn new skills and put them into practice. If you’re an excellent communicator, you can use your own initiative and are comfortable working within our family home, you are just the sort of person we would like to hear from. Our support workers also closely interact with and monitor our son during their shift and then record their observations, so you need to be organised and computer literate. Another important job that we require is taking care of our child’s gastrostomy feeding (through a tube in his stomach), giving him his medication in the right way and on time, doing some of his therapy programme with him (stretching etc) and looking after his personal care. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before as we’ll provide full training. There may also be times when we’ll ask you to accompany our son on medical appointments together with another carer. You may also need to run errands such as collecting medication from the chemist. Everyone offered a job will need to have a DBS Enhanced Disclosure and a full driving licence. Pay and hours We pay our support workers well: £13 per hour on weekdays £15 per hour at the weekends The shift hours are: 15:30 - 22:00 – weekdays (term-time cover) 12:00 - 20:00 - weekend (cover) 08:00 - 16:00 and 15:00 - 22:00 – weekday shifts (school holidays) 22:00 - 08:00 – waking night shifts
