I am looking for a positive, jolly person for my son who has a diagnoses of ASD. Our son is active and enjoys swimming, being on the trampoline and getting out and about. Previous autism experience is not essential as I have successfully trained carers before, I am more keen to find someone with a good energy for him and someone who is keen to learn. Our son does not have much language and uses single words and PECS/ Visual timetable to communicate. Once you know him you would come to learn he is a very funny guy and a delightful chap to be around! Our son has formed a very special bond with his current carer and has a very simple routine of taking public transport to go to the Science museum or ten pin bowling. Our son would prefer a male carer. We propose the hours would be Sat Afternoons 1-5pm and Saturday afternoons 1-5pm to be shared with his existing carer, so you would both do 4 hours per weekend or 8 hours, one weekend on one weekend off. As our funding is through the council, you will be required to have a fresh DBS check through them. You should be able to provide two checkable references. Training will be provided through us and his current carer. This would also be ideal for a student with a special interest in this field.

Layla is 15 years old, but she's quite small and if you saw her you'd probably think she was about 12. She suffers from a rare syndrome which results in severe developmental delay. She is a happy child, very affectionate and has no behavioural difficulties. We need someone who is flexible and trustworthy, who can help us out with her personal care and occupying her for a number of hours each week at the beginnings and ends of the days. We also need her carer to stay a bit longer a couple of nights a week to enable me and my wife to get out for an hour or two. We have been granted quite a large sum in funds by the local authority to employ a carer. We live in Pinner. If you are interested and think you may be able to help us please send me a message. I have a more comprehensive job description I can send by email if desired. Thank you, and kind regards, Bill.
