We need 4 overnight shifts in August to cover our usual overnight carer, when she is away. The dates are 4th or 5th August. 9th, or 11th. These would be training with us around and then on your own on 22nd and 23rd AugustS lJackson is profoundly disabled, non ambulant and non verbal and has epilepsy. You need experience in hoisting, epilepsy and changing nappies. He is a lovely boy with a sense of fun but he can also get autistic overwhelm. We want someone who wants to get to know him and build up a nice relationship and to come when our carer is away. The evening starts at 7pm, helping him with his dinner and having an evening looking at books, playing a bit. he goes to bed at 9pm and needs epilepsy meds then and again at 6am.. shift finishes at 9am. You will have a room next to his with a monitor. He can be wakeful and start playing, but you will have a bed to rest in and sleep lightly

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic carer to help us with our 17 year old PMLD son J. in the summer school holidays this year. And for the right candidate ongoing work in school hols. Hours will be from 10 until 3pm. And we’d like someone who can do 1 or 2 shifts a week (3 if you’re keen!) Although J. can’t talk he signs a little and loves to communicate and have fun. He is very social and likes you to read books to him, and play with him. He loves you to make funny noises like sneezes and coughs. He needs rest and to regulate his feelings, so we would like someone who has a sense of fun but knows how to be calm and reassuring as well. You will be introduced to his love of drills and emergency vehicles!! J. can not move himself and we need someone who has hoisting experience and is happy to change a nappy if needed and take him out in his wheelchair. He is also epileptic, so experience with this is preferable but we will train you in how best to help him with this. His seizures are now well managed but just in case. Ideally you will have a driving license and be able to take J. out for trips in our wheelchair accessible van. But he also loves to go out for little trips on the bus and generally enjoys being out in the community. He is 68 kilos and in a custom made chair, so the candidate does need to be reasonably strong and fit.

Bella is a tall strong happy young woman who finds it challenging to write and read. She is a little bored when not volunteering for the pony centre she volunteers for-and is looking for a companion to go out with to the zoo, galleries, dancing and dog walking. She may need help with work support as she is looking for work. She loves animals, seeing her friends, parks museums and galleries
