| I am a very positive and caring individual with a big heart. I have been working within the care sector for the last 10 years and have gathered a wealth of knowledge and skills. My experience has been developed through working with complex individuals over time. This includes elderly patients with complex health needs and mental conditions. However for the last 8 years I have been supporting children with complex learning disabilities and a wide range of other health conditions and challenging behaviours. I love working with children and supporting the growth and development of the next generation. I have changed my role at work and have more time to reach out and support others. I am hard working, reliable, compassionate, empathetic and have all of the general support worker skills and training. I am happy to support with medication, personal care, community access, domestic duties and support with positive behaviour assistance and anything else. | Hello, I am a very ambitious young woman who enjoys working and learning. I work for Bedfordshire Central Council as a Support Officer in a Special Needs pl Children's Home wish I absolutely love, as this line of work is something which I am most passionate about. As part of this role/job I have completed numerous special training such as Team Teach and the safe handling and giving Medication. I am DBS Registered/Certified which I have also registered to the Official Government Update Service - this allows other employers/persons to request this also and keeps it up to/in date constantly. I have gained numerous qualifications over my years in education. During this time I carried out 6 months of school placement at Stratton Upper School working with children and young adults with special needs, and the special needs school in Biggleswade they are linked too. I found this very rewarding. Before this I also carried out placement in a lower school too working in a year 3 #####.## third Level 3 qualification is in Food Safety and Hygiene. Previous qualifications to this are my AS qualification in Drama at grade C, and then eight GCSE's all at grades B and C; *English Language - B *English Literature - B *Double Science - CC (2xGCSE award) *Math - C *Physical Education - B *Food Technology - B My personal life consists of my life at home - I life with my mother and two younger sisters whom I have helped my mother bring up as she is a single parent. My boyfriend of over 7 years also lives with us, and soon we are hoping to buy our own house here in Bedford/Bedfordshire. I have a few hobbies which I enjoy, including my love for film and love of animals. I also enjoy singing and performing. I have always been extremely sporty, particularly in Karate and Gymnastics. I have spent the last 2 years travelling and living in Australia - while working in care units/ I’ve spent a lot of time in different settings; respite, residential, challenging behaviour units for both children and adults and in the community. I have a lot of experience working with individuals who have diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and more. My experience is many years of caring for my mother, who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, and believes in many other ailments that resulted during the progressive disease of this terrible disease. Last year I decided to hire myself to take care of those in need, and at that time I got a caring certificate, I had some difficulties because there was a lot of material to pass, but I passed it all because the practice I had helped me a lot. As a comunity care Worker, I had the honor of meeting many wonderful people with whom I established a bond with ease, each person was special to me, with each one I worked differently, I could read between the lines, get to know them, learn as much as possible about what they like, if they would like this care was exercised. With each person I was looking for a different way of communication, if it was difficult. I gave each person such care as if they were a member of my family.
