Special Needs Care in Leighton Buzzard

| I’m a Team Leader for a children’s home supporting 10-19 year olds with autism, learning disabilities and various complex needs. I have nearly 5 years experience working with children with complex needs and I absolutely love it. I can travel to nearby areas and I have experience and a very versatile skill set. I’m looking a for babysitting/mentoring jobs alongside my full time career. I do shift work so I will be available some mornings, evenings and weekends.

I am a newly qualified physiotherapist with 18 months experience working in NHS hospitals in a range of settings and departments including, cardio-respiratory, neuro-rehab, elderly rehab, paediatrics, out-patients and orthopaedics. This allowed me to treat and care for patients with a wide range of conditions including stroke, myocardial infarction, brain injuries, cystic fibrosis, cancer, MND, fractures, mobility disorders, joint replacements and psychiatric conditions. I have a very caring nature and experience of caring for babies and children.

| I have 10 years experience working with children and young people with very complex needs mainly autism and challenging behaviour. Some of the young people I support also have developmental delays, speech and language difficulties and other health issues such as epilepsy. I started off my career working in a childrens home and then decided to teach in a special needs school for children with autism. During my time I have gained a level 3 qualification in children and young people in care and I’m currently undergoing an Education and teacher training course to further my knowledge. My younger sister is autistic and is a carrier of fragile x syndrome so I’ve have grown up in an environment where I have needed to help support my family and with that it has enabled me to deal with stressful situations and become resilient to behaviours and complex needs. I am currently a nanny for an 11 year old boy with autism and care for him in the family home aswell as being a nanny for his 9 year old sister who is not on the spectrum. I also support and teach a 14 year old boy with autism and ADHD, I am fun, and energetic and can remain calm and professional in stressful situations. My only availability is Wednesdays and Friday days.

| Hello my name is Keziah I am currently a team leader in a residential home for children and young people with SLD and PMLD. Lots of the young people that I support are on the Autistic spectrum. I support people who are both verbal and none verbal, communicating with them in a way that is best for them, be it verbal, symbols, Makaton. I also work with young people who have epilepsy and have training yearly by my company about epilepsy and administration of emergency medication. I have been trained to administer medication in both my work now and previous employment. I have previously worked in a SEN school as a learning support assistant and also when travelling, in a day center for adults with Autism. I have had lots of training, such as, autism training, sensory processing, positive behavioural support, intensive interactions and lots more. I have worked with both young people and adults have enjoyed support people of any age I reaching their full potential and to lead a life which is forfilling for them.
