Special Needs Care in Ware

| Hi! To begin with, I have worked with children in different capacities since 2013 however, I have two years experience of working with special needs and intellectual disabilities. My experience in disabilities comes mainly from my time as a special needs counsellor at a summer camp in New York. Im looking for work on Care.com because I’d really like to work 1-1 with someone as I enjoy building bonds with the people I care for - I appreciate the time it takes to understand someone and then constantly improving the way I care for them. The best part of my experiences at summer camp were being able to bond with so many different campers and being able to know how to respond to their needs just through spending time with them. Im really hoping to work 1-1 with someone to provide the best care possible and to also make their day to day activities run as smoothly as possible. I’m no stranger to working extremely long hours i.e my typical shifts have been 7am-11pm with a day off every 12 days, im comfortable and great with all aspects of personal care but most of all I have found myself to be able to easily adapt to new situations. Currently, I am working full time and I am using care.com to offer my help on days off and weekends.

| I have worked previously in a special needs school for over 2 years working with a range of different ages and abilities. I have been working with adults with special needs for 3 years and do some private work as a carer.

| I am an extremely patient, understanding, approachable and friendly individual. I have been working with children ages 4-11 in a Primary school for nearly 7 years. I have been working closely with children with needs such as autism, ADHD, Asperger’s and developmental delay causing need for speech therapy. I am happy to give my services to help with child support/ advice to anyone who needs. I have diplomas in behavioural support and SEN in children and young people.
