Special Needs Care in Welwyn Garden City

| I'm a mother of 6 beautiful children and 1 grandson. My eldest son who's 18 has challenging behaviour ADHD and emotional unbalanced personality disorder. My 7yr old son also has undiagnosed challenging behaviour. I've experienced many difficulties in my life and have managed thru very well, I take care of my grandad and also work with a disabled gentleman who has a severe brain injury, I've been working with him since November and have done both night shift and 12hr day shifts

| Hello my name is Cheryl I am 45 years of age and have been working in the care sector for 15 years. I provide person centred care within the community enabling fun activities and/or in clients own homes. My recent experience is working with young adults with learning disabilities/autism within the community and within a college setting. I have worked in residential care homes as well as in the community, providing care within clients own homes; this includes personal care, shopping house work and companionship. I have worked within a college with students with profound and multiple learning disabilities and autism. My most recent experience is with young people with learning disabilities mainly working in the community. Providing community based activities and days out to suit the clients needs.

| I currently work in a Special Needs School in North London. I work with pupils aged 7-19 with a range of additional needs including Social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, Autism, ADHD, Arthritis, Epilepsy, Dyslexia, Asthma, Downs Syndrome and more. My work includes (but is not limited to), delivering interventions including speech and language, physiotherapy exercises, administering medication and supporting with SEBD needs. I also work at a holiday scheme, here the service users are aged 8-23. I believe the most important qualities when working with additional needs is to encourage confidence, independence and happiness. Additionally, I do childminding with a 7 year old boy with Autism. I take him out to the park, do S&L activities and O.T exercises too. I also support the parents in anyway I can. I put all my energy into the work I do and truly feel passionate about it. Having had a mentor at school myself, I have first hand experience with how beneficial extra help and support can be. I strive to deliver a service catered to people's individual needs and wants. I am willing to undergo further training to benefit myself and those who I work with. I work in Southgate (North London) and live in Welwyn Garden City.
