SEN teaching assistant with a lot of experience with high need, challenging behaviour and autism.
|
I have around 6 years experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant for children with additional needs in London mainstream primary schools. I have mainly worked with children with autism, adhd, global delay and trauma. I have worked with a wide range of autistic children aged 3-9 in a variety of schools. I have worked with non-verbal children, behaviourally/physically demanding children, ‘runners’, selective mutes, as well as the incredibly eloquent, continually curious, maths genius, autistic children. I frequently get told by colleagues that I am incredibly patient and neurodiverse children often get on well with and bond easily with me. I have also led the additional needs support in the 8-11s venue at a Christian conference/holiday camp called Spring Harvest in April 2023 and 2024. Co-ordinating the support of around 150 children with additional needs in a venue with approximately 500 children.
In my spare time I also do childminding. Including a girl with mild cerebral palsy for the last 7 years.
