I have been working as a qualified nurse at hospital for over 22years. I now reduce it to part time and use my spare time for myself. My training was at university for 4 years. I was trained in mental health, special needs, child and adult nursing.. we did a bit of practical work experience on all the various types of nursing. I do understand the challenges faced by people with special needs such as autism and developmental delays. I empathise with them and allow them adequate time to communicate and express themselves.I am aware of their sensory and emotional regulation needs.
