| I have supported the elderly with dementia, Parkinson’s and end of life for over 20 years, I support with all aspects of daily care with in there own home, including personal care assisting with dressing, preparing meals, helping with medication, attending Doctors, Opticians, Dentists or any other medical appointment needed, assisting with light general house duties, also if needed I can do night duties, I also assist with taking clients out on social gatherings when required.

I began my journey into care as a teenager assisting my father. I then studied health and social care at college and found it fascinating. My son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 3 years ago- I have a vast knowledge of diabetes as a result. I have had some great experiences working with the elderly. I have learned so much from them about how they would wish to live their lives and how important independence is to them. Talking to them, not at them, listening to them. I have held a first aid qualification, which is due for renewal. I have an NVQ 2 qualification in social care and have experience with the elderly who have dementia. I am willing to be flexible with my availability If what I can do for them can bring a smile to their faces, help make their lives a little easier, more comfortable, then I, too am happy.
