Hi Nannies, We’re looking for someone (live out) to help look after our 2 children. We have a 4 year old daughter who is a very sweet little lady and who loves playing with dolls and giving cuddles. We also have a 6 year old boy who is super energetic, smart and caring. Our son is Dual or Multiple Exceptionalities - he is likely Asperger's/ADHD with sensory stimulation needs but with a high learning potential. We are really looking for someone with SEN experience to provide a stimulating and supportive environment that will help our children with their learning. Discipline, boundaries and structure will be key to bringing the best out in our son. The ideal hours would be Mon to Fri, 3pm to 7.30pm and would involve collecting the children from school (in Sidcup) and either taking them to activities or bringing them home and doing some learning. We have a live in housekeeper so there is not much additional that would need doing. We also have an automatic car you can use. We are flexible on pay. Duties include: - supporting our son in his development and understanding of the world - support on homework and create additional stretching learning - school pick up - take children to after-school activities - support nanny/housekeeper with childcare related tasks (e.g. cleaning up after children's dinner, bath time, putting childrens' clothes away etc) A clean driving licence, SEN experience, good English and DBS are critical.

Our client is an 18-year-old female who has non-verbal cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Her care depends on others to support her in a holistic approach ranging from personal care, feeding and toileting to promoting her quality of life within the house and in the community. Enhancing her social inclusion as much as possible is also high on her agenda, especially when supporting her to spend time with her peers. She is to live as full, active and high quality a life as possible so social and recreational activities are important in her care, together with learning her communication strategies. Our client loves active engagement and interaction; she has a passion for playing football within her capability as well as using football during her physiotherapy sessions. She enjoys swimming, social stories, cooking and watching typical teenage TV programmes. The client requires 2:1 care, therefore you will be working alongside another Rehabilitation Support Worker. You will have experience of working with someone with a learning and a physical disability, and you will be able to provide a high standard of therapeutic support in a caring and professional manner. Tasks include supporting the client to access the community, undertaking a range of activities in the home and supporting her to maximise her independence in line with her therapy programme. You will work with other health care professionals that include a physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist, Conductive Educator & Music Therapist, with the aim of actively participating in all of these activities. You will also participate in hydrotherapy with the client. You will be expected to drive the client’s vehicle to and from school and for other community engagements. Time will be spent playing football, cooking and providing other stimulating and therapeutic activities. There is the expectation that you will work towards a client centred approach to improve and promote the client’s quality of life by following the agreed care plans. Essential • You must hold a full, clean driving licence and be an experienced driver • You must have the skills and experience gained from working with people with challenging behaviour • You must have a warm and friendly disposition with a good sense of humour • Although regular shifts will be agreed, the employer holds the right to change shifts at any time to suit the client’s needs, therefore flexibility is vital
