Spend a day with Taylor Swift themed crafts, play, and dance of course!We will order pizza, and have oranges and carrots for lunch! Drop off is from 10am - 10:30 and pick up is anytime between 1:30 - 2:00pm, but be sure to keep an eye out for the parade time. Refund Policy: Please note that we have a no refund policy. In this class, we will explore a genre of music from a different place and era every two weeks (such as reggae, rock n’ roll, soul, funk, disco, pop, jazz, classical)! Children will hear samples of this music, learn about its typical instrumentation, learn to sing a song from this genre, and learn dance moves…which we will then try out as a group! We will also learn about key artists from each genre, and listen to and discuss one of their pieces. In addition, children will also be introduced to basic concepts of music theory, such as rhythm, tempo, dynamics, and timbre. Activities such as clapping out/playing basic rhythms by reading notes, identifying dynamics within a piece of music (piano- soft, forte- loud), learning and singing solfege, and identifying musical instruments within pieces will be regular parts of this class! Lights, Camera, Action! 5-Day Filmmaking and Acting Summer Camp Overview: Lights, Camera, Action! is a dynamic and engaging 5-day summer camp designed to introduce students to the exciting world of filmmaking and acting. Through a blend of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and practical exercises, campers will learn the fundamentals of storytelling, scriptwriting, acting, camera techniques, and video editing. Led by experienced instructors, this immersive experience will empower campers to unleash their creativity, collaborate with peers, and bring their ideas to life on screen. Day 1: Introduction to Filmmaking - Explore the basics of filmmaking and storytelling. - Engage in icebreaker activities to foster a sense of community. - Learn about the various roles in filmmaking and the importance of collaboration. - Dive into acting games and exercises to build confidence in front of the camera. Day 2: Pre-production - Develop storytelling skills through scriptwriting and storyboarding. - Assign roles and responsibilities for the production phase. - Plan shooting schedules and scout locations around the camp. Day 3: Production - Gain hands-on experience with filmmaking equipment. - Rehearse scenes and fine-tune performances under the guidance of acting coaches. - Begin filming scenes according to the production schedule. This session, we will focus on fun on the Enchanted Garden, Outer Space, & Insects, Gardens, and Weather! This is an 8 week session for Monday-Thursday classes, and 7 week session for Friday classes. Move, sing and dance with Teacher Sohnjay at the JAMaROO Kids Club on Union Street! Did you know studies have shown that daily family dance parties can help foster self-regulation, all while encouraging bonding? Cut out of work a little early, or come after, and sing and dance together! Clap your hands, stomp your feet, and shake your hips to the rhythm and the beat! In the JAMaROO Kids Family Music Time classes, we’ll sing traditional songs and learn original ones too (many written by our own teachers), all together after a good day's work! We’ll focus on a different seasonal curriculum that incorporates the use of puppets, books, and other props to maximize the educational experience and keep classes fun and exciting! Using our curriculum, we will encourage vocabulary, and identify objects and characters as well! Through movement activities, children will build gross motor skills, directly encouraging strength, balance, and coordination.
