Little Folkies is a multi-award winning early childhood folk music program for parents and kids ages 0-5. Little Folkies Family music class welcomes babies, toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents, grandparents and caregivers to come together every week to sing together like one big family band! There is never a dull moment in this class, with the teacher leading the students through fun and engaging finger play activities, hand movements, fun lap songs, call and response singing and hands-on jamming with shakers and wooden kids instruments. Thank you for signing up for the Little Folkies Fall Session! We are so excited to sing, dance and play with you through this wonderful season. Please read the Little Folkies class guidelines and FAQ's found at littlefolkies.com/student-guidelines if your child is attending with a caregiver or nanny, forward them these guidelines and ask them to become familiar with it, as it will enhance the enjoyment for everyone! Other than the necessities for your child, we only ask that you bring an enthusiasm for music and a readiness to sing and clap along! We'll bring the songs, instruments, movements, and sounds for a fun-filled music class! Please make sure you are signed up for our newsletters, like us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on all the fun things we'll have to share with you during the semester. If you miss a class you can reschedule for another time, anytime throughout the semester. If you signed up for the full series you get 2 makeup codes per season, and make-ups do not transfer between sessions. If there are no available make up days or times for you, we can roll up to three classes over to the next semester as credit. In classes we'll Explore different art mediums while fostering speech and language development and exploring textures, colors and shapes through music and storytime! This class includes: Storytime, Music, and Art 15 MINUTE EXPLORATION TIMES: We are eager to build community together as we open our JAMaROO Kids Club! Did you know studies have shown that daily family dance parties can help foster self-regulation, all while encouraging bonding? Cut out of work a little early, or come after, and sing and dance together! Clap your hands, stomp your feet, and shake your hips to the rhythm and the beat! In the JAMaROO Kids Family Music Time classes, we’ll sing traditional songs and learn original ones too (many written by our own teachers), all together after a good day's work! Come spend the Wednesday mornings at JAMaROO Kids Noe Valley with this fun class combo. Arrive as early at 10:00 to play in the space, take the arts and crafts class from 10:15-10:45, enjoy open play from 10:45-11:00 and do music & movement from 11-11:30, followed by an 15 additional minutes of free play until 11:45! 10:15-10:45 Preschool Music & Movement This class is perfect for children who are new to preschool or will be entering into preschool soon. These preschool classes have been created to work on fostering all 5 key areas of development in early childhood education: Cognitive, Speech and Language, Fine and Gross motor development and social emotional. In classes we'll sing traditional songs and also sing original JAMaROO Kids songs created by our own team. Many songs will focus on the alphabet, building vocabulary, and basic math skills. We will begin to explore basic music theory by introducing children to fun characters such as Octave the Octopus! Each month our curriculum will change to ensure children stay excited about class and are always learning something new while providing them with enough repetition to master new skills and vocabulary. 11-11:30 Preschool Arts & Crafts This class is perfect for children who are new to preschool or will be entering preschool soon. These preschool classes have been created to work on fostering all 5 key areas of development in early childhood education: Cognitive, Speech and Language, Fine and Gross motor development and social emotional. In classes we'll Explore different art mediums while fostering speech and language development and exploring textures, colors and shapes! Wake up and dance at JAMaROO Kids Noe Valley! Come fly like a butterfly, hop like a bunny, stomp like an elephant, and tip toe like a mouse! In the JAMaROO Kids Dance and Creative Movement Classes, children are introduced to the basics of dance. Classes include a warm-up circle, stretching games, imaginative dance, partner dance, and free dance. Throughout the year, students will build their dance repertoire by adding: combination steps, body isolations, and layers of movement, keeping them challenged and engaged. Dance and creative movement is a wonderful way to foster self expression, while building gross motor skills, which we know are so essential to a child's ability to be independent and confident! In all of our JAMaROO Kids classes children are introduced to different genres of music from around the world, and are encouraged to use their imaginations. Each month we will focus on music & dance moves from a different part of the world. At JAMaROO Kids all of our music, dance, and yoga curriculum is developed to support and foster all five key areas of development: Cognitive, Speech & Language, Gross Motor Development, Fine Motor Development, Social and Emotional. 15 MINUTE EXPLORATION TIMES: We are eager to build community together as we open our JAMaROO Kids Club!
