Does your child love stuffed animals? Do they want to make their own? This class is the place for them! For six weeks each child will sew their own stuffies and create other fiber art projects using yarn, felt, fabric and so much more! This class is an hour and a half every Friday, and is welcome to all kiddos ages 7-11, no matter their sewing experience!

Winchester artist, Kiyomi Yatsuhashi will lead this one-day advanced-beginner level workshop on the Japanese craft of shibori and indigo dyeing. This class builds upon skills gained in Shibori Indigo Dyeing (Level 1)*. In this workshop, Kiyomi will review basic processes and introduce two specific techniques: stitch shibori and pole wrapping. Students will dive right in, choosing to practice one or both techniques. You'll bring home indigo dyed unfinished cotton pieces that can be used for a quilt, wall hanging, table scarf, or napkin. Included in the workshop is one small finished scarf or bandana. All materials are included in this special one-day workshop. Limited to eight participants. NOTES: Materials Fee of $25 is included in the tuition fee and covers the cost of indigo dyes, tools, and fabric. Optional: natural fiber scarves (cotton, silk, wool), cotton bandanas, and kitchen towels & napkins will be available for purchase on the day of the workshop for anyone who would like to apply the shibori techniques to these items. Indigo dye will stain your clothing and shoes. We'll teach the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing as you create a variety of pieces you'll be proud to show off. The cost of the class includes 25 lbs of clay, tools, glaze, and firing of work made during class time. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio with cash during open studio hours. Open Studio time is included with your registration.

Calling all young artists to join Art Club! Art club is many things...It's a creative space bursting with the supplies and materials artists use to make beautiful art. It's a learning place teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, clay and more! It's a nurturing community encouraging friendships and camaraderie as we create art together. Welcome to Art Club! We're excited to watch each member grow in artistic skill and creative confidence while having a TON of fun! In this class we will: -Draw -Paint -Collage -Use modeling clay -and learn real techniques that artists use! All tools and materials included.

Our large, private studio is an ideal place for your child and their friends to be led by an artist in creating a unique craft of your choice. The craft usually lasts an hour and depending on the group's age and interest we can also run games to keep the children moving and let them explore our floor to ceiling white board wall. Our teacher will greet the children, run your craft, and clean up. Relax and leave the mess to us so your can enjoy your child's special day! We provide two hours in the studio with a teacher led craft. A full list of party themes is available on our Birthday Party website page. Custom projects are available for a small additional fee of $30. This payment of $150 is a non-refundable deposit to hold your space for the party. Full cost is $395 for up to 10 attendees and $15/additional child to be settled the day of the party.

Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, fine motor skills, and creative expression. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days (no class on Feb 19th). While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

To wrap up the summer we have remixed and revisited our favorite projects from this summer for a fun filled finale! This week we will experiment with materials such as prisms, mirrors, bubble wrap, glow in the dark beads, shaving cream, paint, and more - and let our imagination run wild! This week is sure to delight the adventurous artist! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Out of this world collage with planets straight from your child imagination Mixed media painting made with bubble wrap, squeegees, and glitter Swirly shaving cream art collage Neon lava lamp painting AND so much MORE! Perfect for beginners: you'll learn the fundamentals of throwing on the wheel and glazing before the final firing and get a taste of what our longer wheel throwing courses are like.
