Does your child love all things under the sea? We’ve got you covered in our Underwater Animal Adventures week! From drawing, to painting, to dioramas - we will do a little bit of everything this week as we explore undersea creatures. A few of the AWESOME projects for this week include: Undersea diorama with real rocks and sand! Sea creature luminary, sure to light up your life Cuddly woven sea turtle Adorable mixed media jellyfish And so MUCH MORE! Calling all young artists to join Art Club! Art club is many things...It's a creative space bursting with the supplies and materials artists use to make beautiful art. It's a learning place teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, clay and more! It's a nurturing community encouraging friendships and camaraderie as we create art together. Welcome to Art Club! We're excited to watch each member grow in artistic skill and creative confidence while having a TON of fun! In this class we will: -Draw -Paint -Collage -Use modeling clay -and learn real techniques that artists use! All tools and materials included.

Studio on the Common has partnered with the Winchester Chapter of the PMC Kids Ride to raise money and awareness for the ride! Come have a blast painting your own plate with Miss Cherry! You get to keep your plate and use it with pride, knowing you helped raise money for the upcoming Winchester PMC Kid's Ride to benefit Dana Farber. So come get your art on and help us Create Good! This event is limited to 15 attendees. All proceeds will be donated to the PMC Kids Ride. Spend your vacation getting creative! Come on over to Studio on the Common for some nonstop, art-filled fun! We'll have daily programs, so you can sign up for just one day or the whole week. With a creative mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects it's sure to be a blast! While we offer a morning and afternoon class, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class.

This week will be a mix of our favorite projects from our popular "Sewing Stuffies and Fiber Arts" class, and more! We'll be working with fabrics, thread, yarn, and dyes. This week will explore animals, foods, outer space, and wherever else our imagination takes us! To wrap up the summer we have remixed and revisited our favorite projects from this summer for a fun filled finale! This week we will experiment with materials such as prisms, mirrors, bubble wrap, glow in the dark beads, shaving cream, paint, and more - and let our imagination run wild! This week is sure to delight the adventurous artist! Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, fine motor skills, creative expression, and mindfulness with our yoga and breathing exercises. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days (no class on April 25th and May 2nd). While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School on Fridays at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

This class is for beginning - intermediate level students. Beginning students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and opening to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze their pieces before the final firing. Intermediate level students will be encouraged to take on projects that expand their skills while exploring individual creativity in clay. Projects may include working with larger pieces, more complex forms, creating sets, and experimenting with surface design. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.
