To wrap up the summer we have remixed and revisited our favorite projects from this summer for a fun filled finale! This week we will experiment with materials such as paint, model magic, and paper marbling - and let our imagination run wild! This week is sure to delight the adventurous artist! At the Studio we're lucky to have ceramic artists eager to share their craft with your kids. This week-long camp will focus on a mixture of hand building and wheel throwing. We will create a variety of bowls, plates, cups, vases, and more while experimenting with surface design and glazes.

This week will be a mix of our favorite projects from our popular "Sewing Stuffies and Fiber Arts" class, and more! We'll be working with fabrics, thread, yarn, and dyes. Note: Fabulous Fiber Arts is offered twice during the summer. The techniques may overlap, but the projects are different in each session - so feel free to register for one week or both for double the fun! Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, fine motor skills, creative expression, and mindfulness with our yoga and breathing exercises. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days (no class on April 25th and May 2nd). While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School on Fridays at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

This class is for beginning - intermediate level students. Beginning students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and opening to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze their pieces before the final firing. Intermediate level students will be encouraged to take on projects that expand their skills while exploring individual creativity in clay. Projects may include working with larger pieces, more complex forms, creating sets, and experimenting with surface design. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.

Spend your vacation getting creative! Come on over to Studio on the Common for some nonstop, art-filled fun! We'll have daily programs, so you can sign up for just one day or the whole week. With a creative mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects it's sure to be a blast! While we offer a morning and afternoon class, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class.

Each day will feature super fun art projects including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Extra large rainbow collage - a fan favorite project! Rainbow inspired paper pinata Model magic rainbow Beaded sun catcher that will make rainbows in your window Red, orange, green, blue, purple, pink drawings, paintings, and sculptures! This week, we'll be mixing it up with a combination of printmaking techniques and bookmaking. We'll be using image transfers, stamping, embossing, scratch boards, and paper marbling to create one-of-a-kind prints. And, to bring it all together, we will use folding, sewing, and clamp binding techniques to create a set of small books. It's going to be chock full of FUN art making and storytelling! Note: Prints & Books is offered twice during the summer. The techniques may overlap, but the projects are different in each session - so feel free to register for one week or both for double the fun! Does your child love stuffed animals? Do they want to make their own? This class is the place for them! For eight weeks each child will sew their own stuffies and create other fiber art projects using yarn, felt, fabric and so much more! This class is an hour and a half every Friday, and is welcome to all kiddos ages 7-11, no matter their sewing experience!

Calling all young artists to join Art Club! Art club is many things...It's a creative space bursting with the supplies and materials artists use to make beautiful art. It's a learning place teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, clay and more! It's a nurturing community encouraging friendships and camaraderie as we create art together. Welcome to Art Club! We're excited to watch each member grow in artistic skill and creative confidence while having a TON of fun! In this class we will: -Draw -Paint -Collage -Use modeling clay -and learn real techniques that artists use! All tools and materials included.

Looking for something fun to do during April Break? If you have never taken pottery before OR if you have taken a pottery class with us and would like to improve your skills, we welcome you all to join us!
