In class, children go on a yoga adventure using their imaginations and the art of storytelling to help navigate through yoga poses. Our destinations include hiking in the Mountains, diving in the Great Barrier Reef, going on a Safari in Africa, or sledding in the North Pole. On our journey, we play yoga games, sing yoga songs, and practice breathing techniques. In this class, we will explore a genre of music from a different place and era every two weeks (such as reggae, rock n’ roll, soul, funk, disco, pop, jazz, classical)! Children will hear samples of this music, learn about its typical instrumentation, learn to sing a song from this genre, and learn dance moves…which we will then try out as a group! We will also learn about key artists from each genre, and listen to and discuss one of their pieces. In addition, children will also be introduced to basic concepts of music theory, such as rhythm, tempo, dynamics, and timbre. Activities such as clapping out/playing basic rhythms by reading notes, identifying dynamics within a piece of music (piano- soft, forte- loud), learning and singing solfege, and identifying musical instruments within pieces will be regular parts of this class! Little Folkies is a multi-award winning early childhood folk music program for parents and kids ages 0-5. Little Folkies Family music class welcomes babies, toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents, grandparents and caregivers to come together every week to sing together like one big family band! There is never a dull moment in this class, with the teacher leading the students through fun and engaging finger play activities, hand movements, fun lap songs, call and response singing and hands-on jamming with shakers and wooden kids instruments. Thank you for signing up for the Little Folkies Fall Session! We are so excited to sing, dance and play with you through this wonderful season. Please read the Little Folkies class guidelines and FAQ's found at littlefolkies.com/student-guidelines if your child is attending with a caregiver or nanny, forward them these guidelines and ask them to become familiar with it, as it will enhance the enjoyment for everyone! Other than the necessities for your child, we only ask that you bring an enthusiasm for music and a readiness to sing and clap along! We'll bring the songs, instruments, movements, and sounds for a fun-filled music class! Please make sure you are signed up for our newsletters, like us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on all the fun things we'll have to share with you during the semester. If you miss a class you can reschedule for another time, anytime throughout the semester. If you signed up for the full series you get 2 makeup codes per season, and make-ups do not transfer between sessions. To schedule your make up, please email us at contact@littlefolkies.com and we will send you a makeup code! If there are no available make up days or times for you, we can roll up to three classes over to the next semester as credit. You and your child will be singing along in no time, and it's a great way to familiarize yourself with the music before class. Join us for a special day of cooking, playing, crafting, and tasting! Kid-chefs will get to craft their own breakfast, lunch, and sweet snack throughout the day, spend time outdoors, create fun food-inspired art, and much more! General Schedule: 9:00-9:30 am - Arrivals & Activity Centers I 9:30-10:00 am - Circle Time, Story + Stretching 10:00-11:30 am - Cooking Activity 1 + Brunch 11:30-12:45 pm - STEM Activity + Cooking Activity II 12:45-1:15 pm - Lunch + Quiet Time 1:30-2:30 pm - Outdoor Play and/or Art Projects 2:30-2:45 pm - Snack 2:45 - 3:00 pm - Sharing Circle and Pick-Up Max of 26 students in this camp.

Engineers are curious about how things work, so that they make it function even better. Mini-engineers will learn about what many engineers do through fun games, building structures, and art projects.
