Hi there, I'm Calum, a fourth year vet student at the University of Glasgow

As part of getting into vet school there are high academic requirements as it is a very intense course: rigourous in both workload and complexity. I performed well academically in school, in particular all three sciences and mathematics as well as history (all to a grade A at higher). I thoroughly enjoy both learning new topics as well as passing on complex ideas and guiding others through difficult subjects. However, I didn't just spend my time in school with books, also spending a lot of my time on the local river, training to compete in rowing up to a national championship winning level, whilst also being voted Club Captain by my peers. As part of the club I also spent my summers teaching many groups of children of varying ages and abilities the basics of the sport. Together these experiences have given me the qualities and skills needed to be well suited to tutoring, with the coaching giving me the patience and experience to teach children in a positive and engaging manner and the school and university experience giving me the necessary knowledge. I also have some personal experience with tutoring younger children, having a 10 year old sister who tries her best to not make it easy for me, but is still progressing wonderfully.
