Dementia Care Hamilton

| I have been in the care field for about 18 years. I have a vast amount of experience ranging from dementia to children with autism. I have worked in the NHS wards , nursing homes and currently working for the council for the last 2 years. I am part qualified mental health nurse. I am a confident driver and can use my own car. I have a very gentle , kind , warm, non aggressive approach to my nature and put service users first.

| Until last month I worked with an elderly lady with dementia , caring for her in her own home assisting her with personal needs and care during day, evening and overnight , I enjoyed this experience and as she is unfortunately now in hospital I would like to continue this line of work . I also visit a woman with ms on a weekly basis and provide respite care when her partner goes on holiday . I have an HNC in social care .

| I have worked in the care sector for 15+ years. I have worked in various roles from working with elderly/dementia and also worked with adults with learning disabilities. I have also worked in some very challenging roles as well.

| I was my fathers career for over 17 year till he sadly passed, I also looked after and careered for my husband great uncle in the last year of his life-fighting cancer. I have been working for the passed 8 month part-time as a private careering / companion for a lovely 84 lady who has dementia to allow the family to work i would take her for shopping , mass as this was the only activity she remembered that she loved. I believer that our elders should be treated with compasion and respect at all time .

| Throughout my career, I have provided support to individuals in a whole host of environments, this has included older adults living within their own homes. I am fully registered with the SSSC working within the codes of practice and I am responsible for keeping the people in my care safe, I do this by delivering high quality support. Some of the people that I have provided support to have debilitating illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. These illnesses impact heavily on the individuals and their families, and it is my role to care and support each person to achieve the best for them and their future by supporting and helping them to do the things that mean the most to them. Throughout my career in Social Care, I have had many experiences, these experiences have included supporting and advocating for a vast range of individuals, including older adult's. I have worked directly with individuals and their families to provide the best quality care and support they require to maximise their levels of independence while aiding everyone to achieve the goals set out within their care and support plans.

| I’m 45 year old, friendly , active, patience and very understanding. I take care of my mom who has dementia and i believe I have what it takes to look after someone. It’s not a job but a passion to care for others. It makes me happy. I have my PVG if you like to look at it .

| I've been working in elderly care for over 10 years now and thoroughly love what I do. I have such a great respect for the aging community and feel passionate about delivering the best possible support and care. I've worked in care homes, community care, day centers and in a retirement village (in New Zealand). Dementia is an illness that I have a special interest in and plenty of experience to match! I have a lot of patience and enjoy getting to know people where they are in each moment and find common language to create genuine connection and always with the aim of leaving someone in a better emotional state than before. Aiming for smiles :) I'm 30 years old. I have my own car, only recently passed my driving test so not comfortable to be chauffeuring anybody right now but I can pop out for errands on your behalf. I live in Sandyhills with my partner, Simon, and I work for an agency which allows me flexibility to choose my own shifts. | I’m currently a 3rd year student at Strathclyde studying Speech and Language Therapy. I’ve had 16 days of experience helping adults and elderly patients in a hospital placement. During this I assisted some with eating and drinking and spoke to the patients. Additionally I have had two days of experience being in a care home speaking with the elderly. I’ve cared for a man with additional needs. I am currently a companion of an elderly woman with dementia. I am friendly and a quick learner and would love to help you out.

| I used to work as a auxiliary in the old manshionhouse Victoria hospital it was all elderly patients long time patients for 4 years although that was a very long time ago it always stays with you also looked after my dad for 4 years with dementia

| Caring for an aged mother who is in her seventies and suffering from dementia, is what I love to do and cherish a lot. And so I am excited to apply for such an opportunity again I am compassionate, understanding, and caring with a strong passion for helping people especially those in need of personal care and support. With the experience, I have with my mother and working in care homes as a care assistant, I have gained valuable skills in providing emotional and physical support to individuals with diverse needs. including those with disabilities, Senior citizens, and those recovering from illnesses.
