Art Classes in Winchester, MA

Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, fine motor skills, creative expression, and mindfulness with our yoga and breathing exercises. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days (no class on Feb 21st). While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School on Fridays at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

Calling all young artists to join Art Club! Art club is many things...It's a creative space bursting with the supplies and materials artists use to make beautiful art. It's a learning place teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, clay and more! It's a nurturing community encouraging friendships and camaraderie as we create art together. Welcome to Art Club! We're excited to watch each member grow in artistic skill and creative confidence while having a TON of fun! All tools and materials included.

*Popular class - spots fill quickly!* Join Miss Cherry for some hot cocoa! Students will glaze mugs while sipping hot chocolate. Students will glaze a ceramic mug which will be fired in the kiln & ready for pickup two weeks later. This event is open to all artists ages 5 - 8 years old.

This week is for those kids who say that their favorite color is all the colors in the rainbow! This week we will focus on making colorful projects that will sure to put a smile on your face! Each day will feature super fun art projects including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Extra large rainbow collage - a fan favorite project! Rainbow inspired paper pinata Model magic rainbow Beaded sun catcher that will make rainbows in your window Red, orange, green, blue, purple, pink drawings, paintings, and sculptures! AND so much MORE! Art show will be outdoors on the Common on Friday at 11:45am, weather permitting.

We've got an art extravaganza planned to kick off the Summer! Each day will feature super fun art projects including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! Join us as we create our FAN FAVORITE projects and start your summer off with some fun and creativity. Some of the AWESOME projects for this week include: Mini flip book Paper mache creation Painting on canvas Optical illusion Impressionistic drawings And so much more!! Art Show outdoor on the Common, Thursday at 4:15pm (weather permitting)!

This week, we'll be mixing it up with a combination of printmaking techniques and bookmaking. We'll be using image transfers, stamping, embossing, scratch boards, and paper marbling to create one-of-a-kind prints. And, to bring it all together, we will use folding, sewing, and clamp binding techniques to create a set of small books. It's going to be chock full of FUN art making and storytelling! Note: Prints & Books is offered twice during the summer. The techniques may overlap, but the projects are different in each session - so feel free to register for one week or both for double the fun! Does your child love stuffed animals? Do they want to make their own? This class is the place for them! For eight weeks each child will sew their own stuffies and create other fiber art projects using yarn, felt, fabric and so much more! This class is an hour and a half every Friday, and is welcome to all kiddos ages 7-11, no matter their sewing experience!
