Does your child love books and storytelling? This week, we'll be using children's stories to inspire our artwork. With a different book each day, kids will create art that explores the connection between books, storytelling, and art. As they unleash their imagination and create their own unique interpretations and artwork, projects might include a mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! This fan favorite class is perfect for the animal lover in your life! Your artist will have fun making art about all kinds of animals and where they live! Your artist will be weaving on looms, sewing stuffies, creating cardboard sculptures, and MORE! It's sure to be a FUN week! This delicious week is back by popular demand! Your artist will create delightful 2D and 3D art projects inspired by some of our favorite sweets: popcorn, gum balls, cupcakes, cookies, and ice cream (just to name a few). It's sure to be a SWEET week! Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, fine motor skills, and creative expression. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days (no class on Feb 19th). While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

To wrap up the summer we have remixed and revisited our favorite projects from this summer for a fun filled finale! This week we will experiment with materials such as prisms, mirrors, bubble wrap, glow in the dark beads, shaving cream, paint, and more - and let our imagination run wild! This week is sure to delight the adventurous artist! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Out of this world collage with planets straight from your child imagination Mixed media painting made with bubble wrap, squeegees, and glitter Swirly shaving cream art collage Neon lava lamp painting AND so much MORE!
