Art classes in Winchester, MA

Whether you're just starting out or a more seasoned potter, we welcome you to our evening Adult Pottery Sessions. We'll teach the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing as you create a variety of pieces you'll be proud to show off. The cost of the class includes 25 lbs of clay, tools, glaze, and firing of work made during class time. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio with cash during open studio hours. Open Studio time is included with your registration.

Calling all young artists to join Art Club! Art club is many things...It's a creative space bursting with the supplies and materials artists use to make beautiful art. It's a learning place teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, clay and more! It's a nurturing community encouraging friendships and camaraderie as we create art together. Welcome to Art Club! We're excited to watch each member grow in artistic skill and creative confidence while having a TON of fun! In this class we will: -Draw -Paint -Collage -Use modeling clay -and learn real techniques that artists use! All tools and materials included.

Our large, private studio is an ideal place for your child and their friends to be led by an artist in creating a unique craft of your choice. The craft usually lasts an hour and depending on the group's age and interest we can also run games to keep the children moving and let them explore our floor to ceiling white board wall. Our teacher will greet the children, run your craft, and clean up. Relax and leave the mess to us so your can enjoy your child's special day! We provide two hours in the studio with a teacher led craft. A full list of party themes is available on our Birthday Party website page. Custom projects are available for a small additional fee of $30. This payment of $150 is a non-refundable deposit to hold your space for the party. Full cost is $395 for up to 10 attendees and $15/additional child to be settled the day of the party.

Join our resident artist and teacher, Jean Wallace, to create your very own needle-felted heart garland! We will provide all the materials to create this project! Bring a friend and join us with this beginner friendly project to create a gift or just tap into your creative side!

This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days (no class on Feb 21st). While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School on Fridays at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

Our most popular summer program returns for Summer 2025: Art Lab! Does your child love to engage in the process of art making and experiment with new things? If so, Art Lab! is the week for them. This week will be chock full of exploration of art materials and may include things like making fizz art using baking soda, salt resist painting, kaleidoscope making, paper marbling with shaving cream and more! It's sure to delight the adventurous artist! This week is for those kids who say that their favorite color is all the colors in the rainbow! This week we will focus on making colorful projects that will sure to put a smile on your face! Each day will feature super fun art projects including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! A few of the AWESOME projects we will make this week include: Extra large rainbow collage - a fan favorite project! Rainbow inspired paper pinata Model magic rainbow Beaded sun catcher that will make rainbows in your window Red, orange, green, blue, purple, pink drawings, paintings, and sculptures! Does your child love books and storytelling? This week, we'll be using children's stories to inspire our artwork. With a different book each day, kids will create art that explores the connection between books, storytelling, and art. As they unleash their imagination and create their own unique interpretations and artwork, projects might include a mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! We'll get inspired as we use a variety of media; sculpture, paint, pastels, pencils, and so much more to explore animals and their habitats! To wrap up the summer we have remixed and revisited our favorite projects from this summer for a fun filled finale! This week we will experiment with materials such as paint, model magic, and paper marbling - and let our imagination run wild! This week is sure to delight the adventurous artist!
