This week, let your creativity soar as we craft an adorable winter penguin using acrylic paint. Decked out in a cozy hat, scarf, and ice-skating boots, how will you dress up your penguin for the chilly winter season? Join us and find out! Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year!

This week, as we celebrate a week of love, our art class will immerse in the exciting world of printmaking. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of materials to create bright, colorful backgrounds on mini canvas boards. These vibrant canvases will serve as the perfect backdrop for bold, expressive hearts that each student will craft, symbolizing the theme of love. We'll explore Thomas’ signature use of joyful, mosaic-like patterns and bright, precise brushstrokes, which she derived from her appreciation of nature and the cosmos. Our project will involve each student choosing a natural or celestial theme as their muse and reinterpreting it in Thomas's distinctive style, using bold colors and dynamic compositions. This exercise promises to be not only a creative exploration but also a meaningful homage to one of the first African-American women to receive a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
