I have just completed my BA in English Literature at Durham University and am home for the summer before beginning my masters study in the history of art. I have tutored since my years at grammar school, and have successfully helped many in their A-Level, GCSE and 13+ examinations. My specialist areas are English (Literature and Language), History, Classical Civilisation and Philosophy and Ethics / RS. In addition, I have competed to international level in sport throughout my school education and hold two Level 3 QCF’s (alongside 4 A*s at A-level), allowing for development in childcare, teaching and efficient organisational skills. I also have experience with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, so know how to gain a child’s attention and how to make the learning ‘fun’ or difficult task become more simple.
I have found that children respond well to instruction by someone they feel could be an older sister rather than an additional parent (age wise) and can easily adapt my tuition to suit the child’s needs.
