At secondary school, I was given many opportunities to work with the younger years in order to experience what it was like to be a teacher - a role I now wish to pursue. This included assisting a challenging set, four English class, some who had dyslexia and many who struggled to concentrate. I would mark their assignments and help them with their readings. To this day those pupils still ask for my help despite leaving school. I have studied English and History at both GCSE and A level and currently, I study history at university. I would also be able to help with other subjects such as Geography and Re. I have also tutored or helped out my fellow pupils and have been told I have a knack for explaining thing in a concise way. Sometimes learning from your peers is how you retain information and I believe I could offer this. I also found the pupils I helped were able to talk to me about their concerns and stress over exams which is important. Sometimes teachers do not relaise the true extent of stress for exams - having already finished my a levels i understand and would be able to help.
