Elderly Care in Canterbury

| My name is Pamela , I am 23 I have always enjoyed helping people and making a difference to peoples life’s. I have worked In community care for over four years and have also done complex care in the community dealing with peg feeds, hospital discharges, end of life care ect. I’m first aid trained and have a level 2 care qualification :)

| My love for working in the early years began when I started working in a preschool. After 8 years of work I decided to move on to a new venture and expand my experiences, I worked within a primary school becoming a higher level teaching assistant, again I stayed here for around 8 years before I needed a new challenge. I worked within a behavioural school in class 3 until I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy and took on a new role as a nanny for a baby girl. Our lovely little girl is now in reception class, as is my son! So I returned back to the place it all began! I currently work 9-3 at the pre school :) however I am able to work all day on Wednesdays each week. Evenings and some weekends. Throughout my work with schools I have been working with various families part time including school runs, babysitting, tutoring and weekend work. I have many families who would happily provide references and have many many years experience and qualifications. I am constantly updating my knowledge of safeguarding and first aid. I also hold a fully enhanced DBS certification for 2 sites, one for Kent county council through working with children and one for my role every Friday night as a scout leader for our smallest group “squirrels”

| Hi, my name is Mercy, I studied Health and Social Care at the University of Kent. I have worked in social care for 3 years as a care assistant and also a Team Leader. During this time I have supported people, especially the elderly with a range of care needs. This includes, different forms and stages of dementia. Voluntary adult in supported living arrangements with disabilities. I’m caring, empathetic, patient and understand personalization as an important aspect of care. Quality of life is imperative and I intend to improve that of those I care for.

| I am a 20 year old first year Law student at Canterbury Christchurch University. I did a year of medical school last but decided to transfer to Law. I am an extremely kind, polite and hard working person; who takes pride in being the best she can be. I appreciate the importance of family and therefore can sympathise that finding the right person to help out within your family setting is paramount to you. My many life experiences have shaped me into a person that can mould into any role you need me to adopt. I have volunteered in hospitals and worked for 2 months in hospitals in the Dominican Republic, where I cared for elderly patients and assisted the nurses in bed baths, changing, and keeping them company. My kind heart and loving nature has always found me helping other people before helping myself. We as a younger generation have so much to learn from our elders, I find talking to them and hearing about how different their lives were, liberating. Similarly, due to personal illness I have had training with injections, medications, feeding tubes etc. and with my medical student background I am also quite clued up on common elderly issues and medical needs for them.

| Hi, my name is Kim. I'm 38 ears old. I live in Canterbury. I am a qualified dental nurse of 18 years, and a specialist head and beck maxillo facial in hospital but left to Look after my mum for the past 6 years, as she has a chronic illness and cannot breath and on a Machine so I decided to look after my mum and be her carer. My brother has recently moved in with my mum, so I can go back to work and take a breather after many years so I'm very experienced in caring too now...I'm hoping to become a foster carer in the future when I'm around 48 as I really love children. I currently have a few weekly x2 hour small cleaning jobs I also do gardening, and childminding jobs, one of them is driving an 89 year old lady shopping running errands when needed etc and I enjoy elderly people I like to help them. My clients are nice and fair to me and in return I do a good job. I've been with jobs 4-5 years within this kind of field so I do have references and my certificate of being a professional body still for nhs as I keep up with my nursing registration still. It's a good solid proof to employers! I've no criminal record and I'm a safe and good person to take on I have a recent crb ###########..## qualifications of working in NHS states I'm allowed to work with the public, the vulnerable and children. I'm available for school runs, errands, window cleaning, etc. And am looking forward to getting more busy in the new year with new work and look forward to working and helping people in anyway...Thanks for your time! | Hi, my name is MARY I am currently a student and a chef at a restaurant, i also have experience in care and support job, I’m willing to work for anyone that needs my service within Canterbury and it’s environment. Before I relocated to the UK, I was taking care of my grandmother aside from the voluntary care job I was doing at care home. My grandmother suffers from night blindness, I take responsibility of taking care of her and making sure she gets all her needs. Also at the care home,I care for patients that needs personal care and support at the hospital. I push few around wheelchair if need be. And I make them feel comfortable.

Supporting clients with the daily routine in the house Administering the drugs to the clients. supporting all duties in running the house. Escorting the clients when going shopping and helping them make wise decisions. Making sure a high standard of hygiene is maintained in the house. Make sure all clients are advised accordingly when using their money to avoid misuse. Make sure all clients are in good health and in case of body Complaints I address them immediately to the management for further follow-ups. Making sure everybody feels at peace and at home with self-expression to keep proper health and peaceful life. Make sure all clients are alert of their hygiene like brushing their teeth, dentures cleaning, trimming their beards and changing their inner wares ( etc). Being alert to notify any change in a client's behavior in case of no self-expression.

I currently work for the NHS within a hospital x22.5hrs per week I previously used to work within the community and with social services joint working. I am looking to leave the NHS as I need to be able to work set days . I will be looking after my grandson on a Monday and Tuesday from November. I went into nursing as I wanted to care for people .
