| I have been tutoring for five years, and in that time have taught basic numeracy & literacy to children with special educational needs, SATs and 11+ preparation, KS3 History and English, GCSE and A Level History & English, and English for adult learners. I am a patient, enthusiastic, and flexible teacher, focusing upon making the lessons fun and engaging. In terms of my educational background, I have a first class BA degree in History, a MA in Humanitarianism & Conflict Response with distinction, and I'm currently studying for a PhD in History at Newcastle University. I love learning, and like to try and make my students feel the same!

| I have a lot of experience mentoring younger students in my school. I have helped out in a form group of year 7 students, assisting them with reading as well as helping them adjust to a new environment. I was a senior member of the student newspaper, and helped younger students with articles, interviews and good practise, as well as mentoring them to become more confident. I achieved A*s in English Literature and Philosophy A Level, and A in A Level Biology, as well as all 8s and 9s in my GCSEs. I am very patient and flexible, and will work really hard to find the best way to help students understand the work they are given. I love working with children, especially when it means teaching them about a subject I am really passionate about. I am available to work from the beginning of October. | After tutoring in London for 4 years I have moved to Newcastle to continue my studies. I tutored a large number of students from primary school age to GCSE students. I make an effort to understand a student’s needs so I can decide the best way to help them with their studies. This approach helped me to teach two pupils with severe ADHD because I worked with them to come up with systems to keep them engaged. The mother of one of these students said I did an excellent job to make sure he enjoyed our sessions and made it feel less like a chore. Another client said ‘I really did not enjoy maths GCSE before I started with Joey, after just a couple months of lessons math has become my favourite subject, and I am now working towards doing it for A level.’ I graduated with a 2:1 in computer science. I am always punctual and I am happy for my clients to message me with any questions they have during the week.

At GCSE I got A* in maths and each science and also received A*s in Maths, Chemistry and Biology at A level, alongside an A in AS Further Maths.
