Special Needs Care in Newbury

| Hi, my name is Khaley and I am a 30 year old living in Newbury. I have been working in the care sector for the last 10 years. I have worked in a learning disability home for 2.5 years. This gave me the opportunity to work alongside 18-65 year olds. This was such a rewarding job which helped me build confidence by promoting independence and supporting with daily activities and trips. I am currently studying my degree in Health and Social care as I always want to learn new skills and understand my field further. I am reliable and friendly. I have also given specialist nursing care and supported people in the community in their homes.

| As part of my ongoing preparation to become a paramedic, I have spent the last year training and gaining experience working with adults with severe learning and physical disabilities. I take pride in being able to assist and support my clients to live their most independent lives. I also take great pleasure from building relationships with my clients, creating new experiences and finding creative ways to relate. Recently, I have spent time working in a supported living environment with adults who are severely physically disabled, non verbal and requiring intensive personal care. I am DBS registered and hold qualifications in; Moving and Handling First Aid and Basic Life Support Epilepsy Awareness Personal Care Administration of Medication Safeguarding People at Risk Fire Safety Data Protection and Governance Mental Capacity Act Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Food Safety and Infection Control I own my own car. I love pets and am a non smoker. Currently, I am looking for a variety of work placements to broaden my experience and that will allow me to continue my studies towards joining Frontline Services. | Me and my partner are looking for joint caring My partners brother has severe autism and Down syndrome. He has particularly challenging behaviours, including meltdowns and lashing out. Both me and my partner have cared for him a lot and are able to help and calm him down when these challenging behaviours start. Not only are we both great with disabled we also know how to have fun with children of all ages! My partner is also very academic and can help with school work. We are both fun and loving people and enjoy entertaining. We both have a lot of experience with special needs. We are both highly motivated and enthusiastic.
