In 2015 I finished a two year course studying Health and Social Care Level 3 at Chichester College for which I gained a pass. I am currently pursuing a career in caring as this has always been my ambition. During my two year course at Chichester College I had placements at Chestnut Tree House, Infant Schools, Special Needs Schools and Nursing Homes which taught me the practical side of caring for children. In my current job I am charged with daily responsibilities which include personal care (washing, showering and dressing) giving medication as directed, hoisting, feeding via PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) and NG (Nasointestinal Tube). This also involves dealing with the patients’ family members as to their childs/adults needs informing them of any changes or progress during my time with them. I am also responsible for ensuring they stay fully occupied during my shift and supporting their needs when taking them out on trips.
