Special Needs Care in Southsea

| Hello I'm Bethanne, I've worked in a residential home for a year and a half. I also know quite a lot about dementia and Special Educational Needs because the condition is covered in the university degree that I am doing. I have also done dementia friend training. I have worked with children for five years in different places including nurseries and schools. Iv'e also done a range of voluntary work which children, please feel free to take a look at my profile for more information about that. I've done a lot of training which additional training, including First aid and Pediatric first aid training, training in Food hygiene, Infection control and I've done some training in lifting and handling. Ensuring the safety and personal well being of those I care for is paramount but I am happy to do creative activities during down time to keep the people and children that a care for occupied. | I am a senior staff nurse. I see children aged 0-20 years of age on a daily basis that have special needs. It is thoroughly rewarding when caring for these children. I really enjoy looking after children with a variety of abilities and needs and feel very privileged to work alongside them. I am currently learning makaton which is a great way of communicating with the non verbal patients.

| When I am not at university I work at a charity for children with additional needs. My passion is working with young individuals, and I have a particular interest in children with special needs. Throughout my position, I assist young people in learning new skills through different types of play. The job is very much teamwork based, everyone helps one another if we are facing any difficulties, therefore, I have learnt the best way to work coherently in a team. I understood both the theory and practise of looking after children with additional needs . My passion has aided my studies at the University of Portsmouth where I am studying Early Childhood Studies with Psychology. I would prefer a flexible position due to my ever changing workload and timetable.

| Hey there :), I currently work full time in a special needs School. I work with children aged 2-11years old on a Daily basis. I am experienced with daycare and children with special educational needs. I am trained in using different communication techniques with verbal and non-verbal children. I use Makaton, PECs, Schedules, timelines, and more visual aids to help lessen children’s Anxiety and frustration. As well as being silly, having fun, getting messy and exploring the world around us.
