Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
|
I spent the academic year ####/#### working in a primary school for children with special needs as my placement year for university. I worked as a support assistant which consisted of one to one and group work with the children, who had a range of abilities and difficulties. I also worked as a dinner lady in the school, being paid for one hour a day allowing me to carry out intimate care duties and some feeding duties.
Withing this school I not only took part in day to day academic lessons, I also aided children outside the classroom with activities such as hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, sensory development sessions and sensory massage.
Getting to know the children as individuals was the highlight of my job here and I still enjoy seeing and hearing about their achievements.
