If you were to choose me as your dog carer they would be given the love and work through training.
| I have owned my own dog ever since I was only 3 and they have brought me so much joy throughout my life. During lockdown I acquire a soft coated wheaten terrier puppy and I did many hours of research into how to best train and look after him. He is now 2 years old with brilliant recall and can do many tricks such as sit, lay down, paw and sit pretty. My dogs' discipline impressed many other dog owners that I met on my daily walks and I was soon recommend as a dog trainer to new dog owners. I have had experience with new puppies, old dogs, large and small dogs. I have looked after 5 dogs with different behavioural issues and done many overnights and daytime care sessions as well as walks. I am a student at Durham University studying climate science and I would be looking for a job nearby to help support my education. The dogs that I have taken care of are always ecstatic to see me as I use positive reinforcement and control to train and look after them.

University student experienced and passionate about caring for dogs and cats - located in DH1
| I'm currently final-year law student at Durham University and am an avid animal lover. I grew up with two golden retrievers so am familiar with vet visits, dog training, grooming/bathing dogs, administering medication, and interacting with dogs. Since March 2023, I've also started dog-sitting and dog walking for 6 clients (of various breeds and ages) in London, including overnight stays. As for cats, I love them equally as dogs. Since July 2023, I've been volunteering at a cat adoption lounge/cafe in Singapore, caring for both kittens and adult cats. This includes clearing the litter boxes, tidying up spaces, administering medication if needed, and handling customers. I'd love to start pet-sitting and dog walking in Durham as interacting with animals gives me the serotonin I need and allows me to destress from my degree.

Your dogs n cats will get plenty of love n attention. Other pets fed n minded - just ask.
| I have had pets all my life, mainly cats n dogs. My girls at present are my dog Ruby n my cat Alice. Ruby loves her walks n of course, treats. She is very lively n playful for an 8-year-old, which shows that she is well looked after. Alice is nearly 11 n still likes to play. I will play with your pets n give them plenty of attention. I also have experience with keeping fish indoors n outdoors n wildlife ponds. I would be happy to mind small amphibians n reptiles (frogs, newts, small lizards) n tortoises. I have no transport, so will only look for very local jobs - anytime from 11am til late. Also happy to help with some household chores n gardening (weather permitting).

If you love your job you will never work again!!
| I'm Paula (Polly) answer to either, I live in a small village in east Durham called Thornley with my husband Geoff and 3 fury babies. I have 3 Chihuahuas, 2 girls and a boy... Lexi, Daisy and Gerry. After working with humans for most of my life I've learned I like dogs more. Being a dog owner I know how precious they are and love nothing more than spending time with them. My husband and I ran a kennel club assured dog breeding business for 7 years however work commitments in our day job forced us to go fulltime and rehome all the dogs. We still have the kennel facilities which l am keen to convert into a part time business of some sort, I miss working with animals so much and the long term plan is to hopefully do that fulltime in the not to distant future. After researching and alot of thought I have decided to offer dog walking in my spare time and plan to do a grooming course. I know how important it is to trust anyone looking after your pooch and would be more than happy to plan a visit to introduce myself as and if you require my services.

I am a hardworking veterinary student and has great animal handling skills.
| I have just finished second year of university, where I am studying Veterinary Science, due to my love of animals and wanting the best care and welfare for them. I have lots of experience handling animals due to my course, as well as having pets of my own. I am looking to earn some money over the summer and thought a good way to do this was to showcase my skills in handling animals and walking dogs.

My name is Sarah and I'm a cheerful and positive person with a love of animals.
| From a family who have always owned animals, from a horse to a gerbil and everything in between, and they have been a much loved important part of my life. Owning and caring for my own horse from the age of thirteen made me realize I am confident with the handling of large animals. In addition to this while completing the City and Guilds Dog Grooming course I have also been given the confidence to handle a wide range of dog breeds and sizes while providing me with an introduction to breed characteristics and behaviors. I love the outdoors as the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing and my own dog Holly, a very stubborn Nine Year old Border Terrier keeps me out in the woods and in my local community. I adore animals, with their wellbeing, and happiness being my main concern. I have worked until recently in a busy grooming salon. I currently walk and dog sit the pets of friends and family. I have a Canine First Aid qualification.

Flexible, time served doggy handler - have 3 of my own!
| foster dogs, manage to train rather unruly or nervous dogs, have done a Cesear Milan course, an ami chien bonding workshop, a 'holistic approach to understanding your dog' course; do canine reiki (my favourite thing!). Have handled tricky, defiant, nervous, energetic and lazy dogs lol - all ok by me. I am patient as well as fun but do lay good boundaries down. If your dog needs a little training it would be natural for me to apply this. I like to understand the dog as an individual and interact accordingly - each one is unique :-)
