Skills and Experience in Animal Care and Dog Training
I have gained comprehensive knowledge and practical skills through completing a Diploma in Animal Care and Management.
For the past 17 years, I have actively participated in dog agility competitions, working with multiple dogs and competing at a high level, including at Crufts. In addition to competing, I regularly assist with running the rings at shows, which involves extensive interaction with dog owners and their dogs of various breeds. This experience has strengthened my ability to handle dogs in a variety of environments and enhanced my communication and teamwork skills.
As a dedicated dog owner, I have trained and worked with high-energy border collies as well as rescue dogs with behavioral challenges. These challenges have included reactivity, resource guarding, possessiveness, and fear-based behaviors. Through these experiences, I have honed my understanding of canine body language, social cues, and effective training techniques.
