Elderly Care in Wigton

| I am a confident individual who loves caring for others. I have recieved training in many areas in care, some of which are, safeguarding vulnerable adults, mental health capacity act, health and safety, moving and handling, dementia care and different types of dementia, first aid training . I currently work for Cumbria County Council, on a zero hour basis, I work within a care home, I support individuals to be as independent as possible and support them in all areas in which they no longer are, this includes personal care, assistance to and from the toilet, dressing and undressing, companionship, activities, mobility support. I have regular dbs checks and also have completed my NVQ 2 + 3 in health and social care. My current role requires that I complete 15 hours training each month and all training that is required of me for my role is up to date.

| I am organised and have high communication skills which will be out to use at work. I have showed myself to be self motivated and capable of working under pressure, I have a practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see things to completion, I enjoy working on my own iniative or in a team. In short I am reliable, responsible, adaptable, hard working and eager to learn. I'm highly motivated and a quick learner.

| I've worked with vulnerable adults on and off since 2000. I've worked in Workington Custody suit as a DIP worker for CRI. I've worked as an outreach worker for a charity in Workington. And I've trained and qualified as a person centred counsellor in the Primary care mental health team over in Workington, working directly with people of all ages and backgrounds. I've ran my own business and I've brought up my family. I've cared for my own mother until we lost her last year, whilst caring for my mum I learned finding good, reliable, trustworthy carers was essential but almost impossible. So this is why I've now come back into work, to hopefully give good care and support where I can to individuals and their family's when they need it.

| Having worked in care settings since qualifying through a gnvq in health and social care 24 years ago I have a wide variety of experience in many settings. I am 42 and extremely passionate about my work, empathic and patient , gentle and understanding. I am flexible with hours and happy with all tasks to do with providing care tailored to each individual.
