Elderly Care in Staffordshire Moorlands

| I have experience working with the elderly within a personal level with elderly grandparents for around 3 years and in a professional capacity for 12 months.

| Helped with all the routines of the two girls. When I started in 2016, the oldest was one year old, I helped with the introduction of food, changing diapers, preparing food. In 2018 the youngest was born and I helped every new-born baby, sterilizing baby bottles, cleaning the children's room and clothes, facilitating the home routine. And I also helped with all the games and outings. Helped with all routines of two child the nine years old girl and the five years old boy. I helped preparing food, I help organize all the things related to children, I take them and pick them up to school, takes them to the park, I help with bedtime.

| I am currently working in a hospital setting as a health care assistant in the NHS. I have six years experience in various care roles such as, working within a care home setting, community career, school support worker and also working in supported living with challenging behaviour. I am confident & competent with all aspects of personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting and catheter/stoma care. I am fully trained in manual handling and able to use rotundas, hoist and slide sheets etc. I have completed a Care Certificate and an NVQ Level two in Health and social care. In previous roles I have also administered medications, monitored blood glucose levels, supported with domestic duties, meal preparation and supported at meal times.

| Over the years I have worked in various care industries. While gaining qualifications in numerous areas. These qualifications, include BTEC Diploma level 3 and NVQ level 3 in Health and social care, BTEC Diploma in mathematics and English, BTEC in Health and social care. These were carried out at Leek and Buxton college campus. Pearson Education Limited was also where I gained some of my qualifications. During my time working in care homes and community care work I began to work at Harewood Park Rehabilitation Care nursing home. While working at Harewood Park, I gained a lot of experience working with young people and adults with learning disability and with mental health issues from a variety of backgrounds. In rehabilitation, it is very rewarding, as you work with people who eventually can return to society and are able to look after themselves independently. I was lucky enough to work with people and give them life skills to be able to live happily in the society we live now. For example, shopping, self-care, taking them to club activities for them to gain independence.

| I have previously worked in a Purbeck nursing home in Swanage. This involved dressing, bed making, distribution of medication also getting involved with daily or social activities. I have recently cared for a 64 year old man. I help him with cooking daily meals, budgeting, shopping and washing.
