Elderly Care in Oldham

| I did mobile caring in my 20s and I absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the company and I get on well with older people. Iv always been around the older generation and always learned a lot from them. I left this job due to having a baby and I alwwys missed it and my lovely clients. I would love to go back to this kind of work and find the bond I used to share with the elderly. I love to help out and feel needed. I love to make people smile.

| My previous and current roles have given me a vast understanding of requirements, Respect, Confidentiality, Integrity, Contribution, Team Work and Competence everyday both in and out of the work environment. I am educated Level 2 functional skills in English, Math’s and ICT. I’m also in receipt of an NVQ 3 in Children and Young People Workforce. My current role is to provide a safe and caring environment that meets the needs of the young adults who live within our service Daily in my current role I have to implement, review, monitor and develop social work ‘Care Plans. Monthly I develop, implement, review and monitor the young peoples ‘Placement Plans’ within the home. I develop, monitor and review individual risk assessments and ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed. I assist young adults in dealing with behavioural, emotional or other difficulties in line with policies, procedures and regulations Previous to my care role, I worked in a residential nursing home where I would ensure I treated each individual with care, dignity, respect and understanding

| In the past I looked after my grandparents who had dementia by looking after them by cooking and making them lie in bed or to change their clothes.

| I have previous experience being a full time carer for my elderly grandmother. She was bed ridden and receiving palliative care in her own home. I provided all aspects of care from personal to companionship and this time with her has made me fall in love with how important and special caring for elderly people is. Since then have been a live in personal assistant for a year (2 days a week). This was for an elderly lady with MS in a wheelchair. The role included all personal care, medication administration, housework, companionship and assistance with all aspects of her life. This role recently came to an end due to moving area and I am keen to help someone new.

| I have 15 years experience in working with people with physical, emotional and learning disabilities. I have worked with people of all different ages and I am very good at developing relationships with people. I love animals especially dogs! I love travelling and going to the cinema. I have lived in London and China and Thailand, so I'm quite adventurous. I have a very good sense of humour which I find helps in stressful situations. I hope you find me interesting.

| Hello, I am a 22 year old graduate working in the NHS. I currently live with my two parents and my little brother. I can drive, cook, clean and willing to help with anything that needs assistance. It fulfils me when I can make their day a little bit better helping them with their everyday needs. I imagine myself also being in their shoes and one day I also may receive the same kind of care I am able to give I am competent in manual handling the elderly and trained in many areas of handling age progressive health issues such as dementia and Alzheimer's. I really like to working with the elderly and it always puts me in a positive mood. I am eager to work with older people as it helps me be myself around them and keep them company :)
