Elderly Care in Meadows/Morningside

| I have worked in Eldercare for a bout a year and a half. Most of my experience has been in Denmark where I lived previously. I worked within the local communities home nursing group. It should be noted that I am not qualified as a nurse or similar but have worked closely alongside them in assisting the elderly. I am a very open and welcoming guy, always happy to have a chat and lend a hand with anything. I am happy to help with cleaning and cooking as well. | One of the most rewarding aspects of nursing is the ability to help mentally and physically sick patients. And usually, they are very grateful, which can be fulfilling. I loved nursing because at the end of my school, I knew that I had made a difference.

| I am an experienced elderly carer. Supported living support worker, Tiphereth (####-####): I worked with adults with learning disabilities and autistic people offering support with after-work activities and care. This included: preparing food; personal care; medication administration; hobbies such as walking, dancing, theatre, cinema; weekly shopping; scheduling and attending appointments; going to church; individualised morning and bed time routines; attending community events. Befriender, St. Wilfrids Centre Sheffield (####-####): I created a safe and accommodating environment for socially excluded, vulnerable or homeless adults by encouraging them to converse and take part in the centre's daily activities. Often service users come in suffering from loneliness and anxiety, so I made it a purpose to help them feel relaxed through a friendly approach, lending a listening ear. I assisted in re-instating clients’ confidence by encouraging positive behaviour in aid of their mental health. I worked as an Information Technology Class Assistant, teaching for a variety of skill-levels, including how to access and send emails, how to search for information online, how to complete online forms, and more advance software use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
