Kind, outgoing & reliable!
| Before COVID I worked at a nursery & whilst it was closed I decided I wanted to help out at a care home in West Calder. I absolutely loved my experience there getting to know and spend time with the elderly tenants so I decided I wanted to make it my career! I then went on to work for a care at home company where we visited clients in their own home & provided care for them. I done this for about a year and a half but unfortunately I had to have surgery on my back so I have not been able to return to my role as it was quite physically demanding. I would love to get back to working with the elderly though as I enjoyed the relationships that I was able to form & felt pride in knowing I'd made a difference to someone's day. I would be able to offer companionship/social visits, meal preparation & light housework duties. Thank you for taking the time to read!

Hi, I started in care work in 1992 while I was in Canada. I met my husband in Malta so cutting short I went out to Canada and it gave me a wealth of knowledge supporting people with varying illnesses. I worked with Karen who had MS, Winnie, an elderly lady with Parkinson's, and Fr Khiet with Motor Neurone Disease. I came back to Edinburgh Christmas day 1998 and started as a care assistant in Ashbourne care home at Roseburn. I joined J. B Nursing Agency at Morningside later that same year and did lots of work in various care homes all over Edinburgh. I stayed with J. B on and off till June 2005. Before that I mostly did work with people with learning/physical disabilities which I loved doing. There were about 4 different places that I went to on a regular basis. Unfortunately I have not worked since 2005 due to health reasons myself but one thing that's certain is that I have not forgotten anything. And, anyway, if you're a person that wants to go into doing caring/supporting people it wouldn't matter how long its been since a person worked, that something that is in people who go into the caring of other people, won't leave. What I need is for someone to give me a chance to prove myself.
