Dementia Care Grimsby

| I took a change in direction a few years ago in my job. I went from a purchasing manager (30 yrs+) to a housekeeper/cook/cleaner. My stress levels were immediately irradiated and I embraced a totally different working environment. It taught me a great lesson in life skills and made me realise every level of job carried great satisfaction. I have helped keep elderly people in their own home environment for longer. Been a housekeeper in a very large house which had four floors and a basement. I have cared for a lady who was suffering with dementia and I have also helped a person to de clutter their very full house, to a level they found extremely manageable. So I believe my skills to be plentiful and transferable. I have previously done Cooking, cleaning, shopping, ironing, Light gardening and Indoor Plant care, and I take great satisfaction in keeping my clients safe within their home environment.

| I have been taking care of my father in law for 2years now he is bad on his legs and has dementia I have my own business a off license and corner shop which I am currently renting out so I have some spare time on my hands I also love spending time walking with my dog.

| Hi, I'm Jodi and I have worked in the care sector from the age of 17. I have my level 2 diploma in health and social care and have also completed the care certificate. I have completed many mandatory training courses. I started in a care home and once I turned 18, I became a community carer. I worked my way up. I have worked in mental health also. I now work at Grimsby hospital as a Senior Health Care Assistant. I only work bank so I pick the days I work meaning I am flexible. I have worked with a variety of people with many different needs. I’m open to discussion on any needs that your family member has. I really enjoy helping people with dementia and palliative care. I like to meet people and get to know their backgrounds to see if we are compatible. Working as a community carer has given me a lot of experience in the world of care as I've had to use my own initiative a lot. I strongly believe in person centred care and showing full respect. I believe dignity and privacy is very important and understand how difficult it can be for some people to allow someone into their home to help them. I encourage independence as much as possible by encouraging people to do things for themselves when possible.

| Hello there! I have a real passion for elder care that started when I was in highschool where I took certification classes to become a phlebotomist. I went on to become a patient care technician for a senior home named Vista Grande Villa, where I specialized in caring for advanced dementia patients. Most of the residents there had a hard time remembering to care for themselves so I did all of their care for them! Medicine dispensing, cooking meals, cleaning the whole house, laundry, showering, brushing teeth, shaving and combing hair, adult diaper changes, running errands, grocery shopping and even just spending quality time together. The true treasures of our earth are elders! I would love the opportunity to meet and greet you so we can start our journey of respect and care together!

| I have been a carer for over 25 years. I worked in Essex with Crossroads which was a respite service. This was a charity and i worked with them for 10 years until they lost their funding. I then worked for another conpany as a respite carer for 9 years. During these years i worked with one family at a time and was trained by nurses/doctors on their individual care, so that the family members could relax knowing their loved ones were in good hands. I have worked with many dementia clients, ms, parkinsons, quadriplegic client, cerebral palsy, special needs. During this time i completed my NVQ social health care level 2. . As a respite carer i became part of the family and had a brilliant relationship with the families i worked who still keep in touch. I then left essex to move to lincolnshire where i became a carer for my sister who had multiple illnesses and unfortunately passed away a year ago. I have references from my last job.

| I was a carer for my husband for 18 years, he had Parkinson's Disease, now I'm caring for an elderly couple with dementia, one of whom needs personal care. Both require meals and help with medication. I'm a people person I love caring for people helping them and hopefully brighten their days and help them live independently
