Childcare in Totnes

| I have been a part-time Nanny to one family of three boys for the last 7 years, starting when the youngest was 8 months; obviously, as they are getting older they need me less. Also part-time with other families in amongst that. I am looking to work for another family where I can help with all aspects of childcare, particularly helping the child to learn the beginnings of reading and writing, drawing, craftwork, and learning about the natural world all around us, and hopefully make your job a bit easier. I do Voluntary work with HomeStart where I am a home support visitor to families with children under 5. Within HomeStart I have completed an 'NOCN course 'Preparing to work with children and young people' with extra training on 'Behavioural issues in under 5's' and 'School readiness' Just finished a course called 'Building Babies Brains' - fascinating! DBS checked and a paediatric first aid certificate.

| I began working in schools in London as a TA and learning mentor with specials needs and mainstream primary school children in 2009. I used my knowledge attained whilst studying art psychotherapy and TEFL teaching (English), and mainly worked on a one to one basis. I then studied to become a community art leader and began running art workshops for children and adults in Cornwall / London / Devon. I also run classes for children and mums and babies in Yoga.(YA Certified 2007) In recent years I studied again Level 3 home based childcare, safeguarding children, food and hygiene and next month paediatric first aid. I decided to work in a nursery / pre-school setting in Exeter. I found I couldn't give full attention to the individual child as there were 30 plus children so I am now looking for a local job with 1-3 kids so I can give them all my energy. I am 42 and do not have my own children but I have 2 adorable God children, one in London and one in Brixham. My working hours are flexible. I am looking for regular work in the Totnes area but not Wednesdays and Saturday mornings as I teach English classes.

| I'm a caring and fun individual who has a love and passion for caring for children. I've got a level 3 childcare qualification , Have had first aid training, had safe guarding training and until recently worked in a busy childcare setting ranging from caring for babies as young as 3 months up to 5 years . I want to further my experience with working with children and look forward to meeting new people in the process . I have worked in a nursery for nearly 3 years after completing my Level 3 childcare . I’m currently studying at university for my degree in early childhood , although I have taken a break as I have had a baby. . . I’m currently on mat leave and my daughter is 8 months old . Qualifications GCSES 7 b’s 3 A’s 2 c’s A levels Art distinction/A Design distinction/A Child’s play and learning distinction star /A* Early childhood studies at Marjon university- 1 year completed HABC Paediatric child first aid - LEVEL 3 Safeguarding HM government prevent training . 4 years trained and taught in a 0-5 busy nursery. Childminder/nanny experience and references.

| I am the eldest child in a family with 8 children and so have always taken a maternal role with my siblings. My mother runs a very successful family blog called 'Family Days. Tried & Tested' which has over a quarter of a million followers and multiple awards such as 'Best Family Blog of the Year' - being in this household surrounded by such high levels of childcare as given me the experience I need to care for children of all ages and ensure that I fill their days with happiness and development. I am very confident in the kitchen and can ensure that the children in my care are fed nutritious and delicious meals. I will happily take the children out into nature for little activities/adventures, perhaps swimming or some other fun form of exercise for them. I can help them with their homework and support them in whatever way they need. I am currently learning to drive so will have a license soon enough, but I have access to transport at all times.
