| Hi, I'm Maya -- I'm 28 with over 15 years experience in childcare. I'm a dual US/UK citizen originally from New York. I'm first-aid/CPR certified and have extensive experience with infants and toddlers as well as with school-age children and teenagers. I've been a full-time nanny, a weekend date-night babysitter and everything in between. I love working with children; I find childcare to be the most purposeful and rewarding jobs I've ever had. I come from two generations of midwives/maternity/labor & delivery nurses, so I have a thorough knowledge of infant care. I’m quite an active and creative nanny - I really enjoy going for walks, to parks, museums, libraries, music classes, story-times etc. I'm also always happy to find creative ways of playing and learning at home. | I am a recent 2:1 BA graduate from Central Saint Martins where I studied fashion design with print. Originally I'm from Ipswich in Suffolk but I currently live in Clapton, Hackney. I'm very interested in arts, reading, cooking and keeping active.I have been babysitting since i was 14 when I had a regular job every Friday and Saturday night for a year taking care of a 2 year old (feeding, changing, entertaining and putting to bed) and since then have been working for various parents in my home town. I get on very well with children and had been helping at my church with providing childcare and organising activities at Sunday school weekly for 3 yrs before moving to London. I am committed to arriving on time and following a set out structure regarding bedtime and playtime as well being is of the upmost importance. I did A level maths and received high grades in my English, Science, French and German GCSEs so I am competent at helping with homework as well as creative activities. I'm also an accomplished musician and singer with grade 8 violin. In terms of flexibility and hours I would like to be working around 20/30 hrs a week to allow a couple of days for creative work. I am very flexible on times and can work weekends if needed.
