I previously worked as a Nanny at Koru Kids looking after different children during my undergraduate and masters degrees. They ranged from 2-10 years old. Completed school runs, after school clubs/ activity runs during. Further roles included preparing dinner, keeping the kids company, light household chores such as laundry for the kids, food shop and dishes. I was also a babysitter, where I have looked after a 10 year old. This was a paid position, my duties included, arriving in the evening, staying overnight while the parent worked in the NHS. Our nightly routine included making a simple dinner as he was a picky eater, but simple recipes sufficed. Around 8pm he would be prompted to take a bath to get ready for bed, I would then leave him to read a book to wind down. Other than that, I have looked after my four siblings since they were born, I would babysit them whenever my mum needed time to relax or had work to complete. Activities to do with kids: Painting brings out the creative in anyone, it does not have to be anything fancy, so as long as it promotes relaxation. Hide and seek or board games is always a good idea. With older children I would ask what they would like to do with their time.
