After School Care Penzance

| I support an autistic boy aged five. Devise activities that help promote physical and mental development. Accompany child on outings to approved locations as well as after-school activities. Establish and maintain safe and supportive environments. Communicate with parents about daily activities and behaviours. Implement and oversee activities centered on promoting learning and imaginative play. Read stories and facilitate discussions to tie books into learning opportunities. Encourage basic crafts such as paintings, drawings and decorations. I also have years of experience looking after my niece and nephew.

| I have experience in caring for children of varying ages, in several different settings. In September 2017 I spent several weeks as a fill in nanny for a family in Central London, working with a family of 5, taking care of two boys aged 10 and 7, and a girl aged 3. In this role, I collected the youngest from nursery, prepared meals, helped with homework and piano practice, and assisted with the bath and bedtime routine. I enjoyed playing whilst also stimulating the children's growing abilities and assisting with activities such as drawing or arts and crafts that encourage creativity. In the last 18 months I have been regularly babysitting for another family of 5, having similar after school responsibilities. In addition, during the summer of 2018 I spent two and a half months in Canada as a Day Camp Councillor for children at Camp Tawingo. The ages ranged anywhere from 5-12, and I could be responsible for up to 10 children per week. I learnt so much from my time here, but most notably what it takes to instil the foundations a child needs to grow up as a responsible, kind, and well-rounded individual.
