Childcare in Abergavenny

| After achieving my Early Childhood studies degree I worked as a residential childcare worker in a home and BSED school. I then worked as a facilitator supporting young people with learning difficulties in a college setting. I worked as a support worker in a care home before more recently working as an assessor supporting work based learning learners to achieve their health and social care qualifications in the job. I will be on maternity leave the end of February so I am looking for casual babysitting until then.

| I'm an extremely responsible and responsive individual with a passion for children. I've been a registered carer for my disabled mother since I was nine years old, so I am no stranger to specialised needs. Due to the nature of my personal life, I have had no time to attain official qualifications in childcare, but believe that I am dedicated, loving, hardworking and knowledgeable on the development of children. I have previous experience in babysitting, and I understand the need for patience, care and discipline where necessary- however I do not believe in negative reinforcement. As I am autistic myself, I am able to relate to and understand children with disabilities, their need for stimulation and the difficulties that come with minding a disabled child. I am proficient in cooking, keeping a house tidy and clean, caring for dogs and helping children partake in activities. I have a full and clean UK driving license so I am able to do pick ups/drop offs and I also have a full DBS check from my previous job and no criminal convictions. I am able to provide character references upon request.
