About me
Hi I’m George, male aged 32. I am empathetic, generous and like to see everyone treated equally. My hobbies include chess, football, pool, table tennis, and writing.
Due to my diagnosis of mild Asperger’s syndrome and learning difficulty I require support in my day to day life. This includes: Managing my finances, planning travel, building a routine and structuring my days, meeting new friends, planning meals and managing my anxiety. This list may change.
My two main goals at the moment are to find employment and expand my social circle.
I am incredibly close to my family and see them all every week. They are important to me because they understand and care for me and we have fun together.
About you
I am looking for someone of a similar age, friendly, enthusiastic personal assistant to support me to live a fulfilling life full of opportunities. Flexibility with working hours is essential and ideally you will be local to Maidstone.
I need someone reliable, consistent and patient who will listen to me and be understanding. Experience working with Autism or learning difficulties and a driver with their own car is preferred, but not essential.
Must hold a clean DBS check or be willing to undertake one.

She is a lovely little girl who needs someone to take her out and about to have some social opportunities and some fun, and to give her parents a break from caring. She is being funded with direct payments and has a package of 3 hours per week term time, 6 hours per week school holidays. H is non-verbal, so you will need to learn to recognise her non-verbal cues to understand when she is happy, sad, uncomfortable, etc. She is mobile but can trip and fall over obstacles, like stairs and kerbs, so needs to be supported with mobility. She does not have any challenging behaviour, but she can run off so needs someone who will keep a close eye to keep her safe. She is in nappies still, so her PA needs to be prepared to change her when necessary and help her with some personal care and dressing and she needs to be reminded to drink and may need some help feeding herself.
You would be employed directly by her parents, who have employed me in the capacity of Support Broker to provide assistance to manage. The rate of pay being offered is £9.75 per hour (this may be slightly negotiable), you will receive statutory paid holiday. A car driver would be great to take her out and about, you would need a clean driving licence and appropriate vehicle insurance and would be remunerated for your mileage carried out for work. You will also need an enhanced DBS to work with children, which can be provided FOC if you do not currently have a qualifying DBS.
Due to the personal care requirements, we will be considering female applicants only for this post in accordance with the provisional of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010) pursuant to schedule 9 part 1.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.
