You must have transport, qualifications, up-to date DBS check.
You will be responsible for taking our child to the local play center, children activities, walks. He is a very friendly active boy with limited verbal communication.
We are looking for 2 hours everyday - Monday to Friday - 4pm to 6pm.
We are based in Bolton BL1.

Main role
Supporting a very disabled person in their early 30s who requires near round-the-clock care to live independently, meet their child's needs, run their household and go about their daily life with as much quality of life as possible.
Typical duties
-fetching and carrying, opening doors etc.
--prompting to eat, drink, take medication
-manual handling (e.g. assisting to sit/stand or transfer, securing wheelchair in car, etc)
--some communication support
-mental health support (e.g. awareness of mood and mental state, intervention before crisis point)
--housework (tidying, sorting, cooking and cleaning)
-specific food preparation (blended diet)
-catheter care including suprapubic wound care, emptying, attaching and removing drainage bags.
-personal care including washing and bathing, getting dressed, mouthcare, managing clothing changes and maintaining hygiene.
-accompanying them when outside the house in their powerchair to ensure their safety, including when going to events, shops or walking the dog.
-being prepared to take a background role while providing support in social activity, clubs and volunteering and similar activities
-other duties as required, by agreement
Location
Shifts start and finish at the employer's house in Breightmet, Bolton unless otherwise agreed.
Pay
Basic pay is £9.90 per hour. There is a flat rate for overnights, but these would only be needed in exceptional circumstances, eg holidays, emergencies, etc.
Hours
This vacancy is for weekends, with both Saturday and Sunday required. It is a 14 hour vacancy with some flexibility as to specific hours worked, depending on the preferred candidate's availability.
Requirements
Essential - all applicants must have:
-no fears/phobias/allergies/dislikes of dogs or children (the employer has two noisy but friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and a noisy but friendly child)
--extremely high levels of punctuality and reliability - lack of PA support directly affects a PA user's ability to live their life and can be dangerous.
--good physical mobility and strength, and the capacity to provide support to someone with limited mobility - consequently this job may not be suitable for someone with their own mobility impairment.
--the right to work in the UK
Desirable - the ideal applicant would also have:
--a full and valid driving licence (manual or automatic)
