My husband has very severe ME - he is fully bedbound and reliant on full-time care. We're looking for help while I am working (usually from home) - which involves being on hand for when he needs help, toileting in bed, preparing food and medication. His care needs vary and some days he doesn't need much, so I'm looking for someone who would be happy to help around the house (e.g. with cleaning, washing up and laundry) in between his care needs. It would be at least three days per week (usually 9-4 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), but additional ad hoc hours would be available. He has severe cognitive difficulties and is non-verbal, so we are looking for someone who is willing to learn and able to adapt care to his needs, as well as his daily routine. Training will be available on his care needs and very severe ME. He uses messaging apps to communicate with his carers so we need someone confident using a smartphone and able to read/write fluently in English. Enhanced DBS required and references. Care experience is preferable but not essential. We are looking for someone who would be happy to do a few training days in December, then two days per week in Jan/Feb, increasing to the three days per week from March (when his current carer is leaving). Consistency of carers is really important for us so we're looking for someone keen to provide help long-term.Access to a car essential since we are quite far from public transport.

Full-time equivalent pay offered. Minimum core hours to cover before/after school will be Monday-Thursday 7.30am until school drop-off at 8.45am and school collection at 15.15pm until 18.00pm.
