We are a family of four living in Downderry, South East Cornwall. Looking for a kind and reliable safe pair of hands for nanny position by the sea:) We are looking for a live in or live out nanny who can commit to our family long term during both term times and school holidays. Experience with special needs and disabilities would be an advantage, but more important is commitment, consistency and common sense, and to be fit and strong. We have two children, a daughter aged 7 and a son aged 5, who has physical disabilities. We need a willing and capable nanny, who is kind and patient and able to cater to the quite different needs of our two children. For a live-out position it would be after school help from 3-7pm (childcare, preparing tea, helping with homework and bath time) and full days in the school holidays (8am-6pm) when sometimes you would have both children together and sometimes just one. For a live-in position we could potentially offer full time hours if you were happy and willing to take on household duties too including cleaning, laundry, a bit of cooking and some errand running. One evening per week of babysitting also required - flexible on mutual terms. Depending on circumstances we could potentially negotiate the hours - for example a four day a week position with Fridays off or part time hours during school holidays. Happy to discuss options for the right person. Car driver essential due to rural seaside location 30 minutes outside of Plymouth. Our son has epilepsy which is well controlled but applicants would need to be willing to undertake paediatric first aid, life support and epilepsy training (costs covered) and training on use of equipment such as specialist seating and lifts and specialist communication methods (costs covered). In return we offer a happy and welcoming environment in our family home, easygoing children, and a lovely spot right here by the beach in Downderry.

Hi, Thank you to everyone who has already messaged, although, I am not able to reply to most of the messages as I dont have the premium upgrade! I am also very aware that many of the messages are from the Plymouth area, which I believe would be too far for someone to travel to and from, so please don’t be offended if I don’t reply, we really are looking for someone close to the area, preferably, Torpoint or Liskeard or Looe area’s!! We live with our twin girls and Small Westie dog near Torpoint PL11 and we need someone to take care of the girls, who will 3 in November, Tuesday to Friday, approximately from 7.30 to 5.30? We are also looking for a capable and experienced babysitter for some evenings and occasional weekend? We would be more than happy if this was one person able to do both but understand that’s quite a lot of hours so may need to be 2 people? The right person should be an experienced and responsible childcare provider, preferably registered as we would like to take advantage of the funding available from Jan 2019.
