We are a neurodiverse family and live right in the town centre on Newquay. We need someone long term, regularly who would also be up for occasional babysitting. It is me, my husband, our nine year old daughter who is into all things pastel and kawaii and our six year old son who is into space and numbers. We need an extra pair of hands for 3/4 hours a week. Probably on a Friday afternoon. We need someone who likes to play with children not just watch them if that makes sense so that they can build a relationship strong enough to feel safe being babysat. In terms of cleaning I need someone who can just crack on with stuff depending on what’s needed on the day. So it might be things like, clean the shower curtain, put laundry away, clean the fridge or play with the kids for an hour while I do some work (I’m a tarot reader). So someone who can work unsupervised but doesn’t mind me giving them requests for various different jobs. We are quite messy and creative by nature so we need someone who can tolerate our crazy and work around our projects. I like to think we are friendly and warm and easy to get along with. Our last lady worked at a local preschool and my kids adored her but she moved up country. She understood that autistic kids can be particular about how they like their sandwiches cut up or not moving their teddies about without checking first. I’m sure she’d be happy to reference us.

We are looking for someone to help our family 4 days a week (likely Monday-Thursday). Preferably from our home. Predominately to care for our lovely, sensitive and energetic boys Jonah (3) and Billy (2). But also to help at times with cooking and tidying/cleaning/bathing/putting to bed. Just general superhero! Hours to be mutually negotiated, but thinking mostly 9-5ish with some flexibility or opportunities for overtime as needed. We run an ambulance business and don’t have any local family help, so life can be hectic and full on. Despite this we want our boys to have a consistent, calm and care free life! We love our boys taking full advantageous of Cornish life, being outdoors and on the beach. We would love them to access clubs and groups with other children. Mostly importantly we want them to have someone they can feel close to, when we are away from them. Someone caring, accepting and with gentle discipline. We appreciate the job has to work for you as well as us, so happy to discuss the best fit for all. We currently live in Newquay, but in around 2 years time (when our house is built!) we’ll be moving back to perranporth. Thanks for reading
