Help needed to bridge the gap between the end of maternity leave and an available nursery place.

by Megan • Bristol
Hey! I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and have already come up against the crazy waiting lists for childcare in Bristol! I am exploring options to help us cover the current gap we are likely to have between my maternity leave ending (July 2025) and our preferred nursery waiting list (end of November 2025). We are Megan and R, 34/36. We live in Totterdown, and though we both are able to work from home for several days a week, we'd be looking for someone to help with watching the little one who will be 9 months old. Own transport would be ideal to allow you to get out and about with them although we have several parks and the City Farm within walking distance. Due to flexibility with work, no pick up/drop off would be required, and one of us would always be home to take things over around 5pm. Although I initially see this as short term arrangement, given that we don't have vast amounts of space, it's not to say this couldn't be a good fit and mean we rethink our plans!
